Ah yes, the noble battlefield of schoolboy rugby. Where dreams are made, tackles are missed, and some moms still think their sons are made of porcelain and not protein.

Now let’s be honest. If your boy made the first team, he’s already elite. But rugby – like life and mall parking on payday – is messy. You slip. You stumble. And sometimes, a photographer catches it in glorious high-res.

That’s where I come in.

I don’t Photoshop out the mud, blood, or missed tackles. I tell the story. The full one. If your son wants to run with the big dogs, he can’t expect only highlight reels. He must embrace the good, the bad, and the slightly embarrassing side-steps.

And if you want to go out and make challenges on social media, do not cry when the opposite happens. This isn’t a Disney show. This is rugby. A collision sport played by humans, not hashtags.

So to the sideline moms rushing in to pad their little Bok from a viral video clip – please, take a seat. Sip your cappuccino. Let the boy become the man he’s supposed to be.

Because if he’s tough enough to flatten someone else...He’s tough enough to take the hit – online or off.
